An elitest point of view. Others think of art as a way to engender various emotions (and thoughts) in the person enjoying (or not enjoying!) the art. Two very different points of view without much in common. Art that speaks only to artists, not to ordinary people, probably fits the first definition. Games perhaps fit the second definition, certainly not the first.Lewis Pulsipherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11998403221823705918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30766504.post-72114378902103847742008-10-22T02:02:00.000-04:002008-10-22T02:02:00.000-04:00Hello!I have to disagree, in art it wasn't the cas...Hello!
I have to disagree, in art it wasn't the case before contemporary art. You can still enjoy old art "figurative art" without knowing the intricacies of the symbolism in use.

So reducing your view to contemorary art is not really accurate. Mariage or passage can be seen as such a hi level of abstraction contemporary art have.

In animation it is the same, you can enjoy disney or pixar but mac larren's work would only talk to film and animation maker...

And sorry for the grammar or anything else, english is not my native's :)neoshamanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05580909434343473133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30766504.post-65673742785652171922008-10-20T12:20:00.000-04:002008-10-20T12:20:00.000-04:00I have a feeling that this has to do with the comm...I have a feeling that this has to do with the commercialization of our industry. Contemporary art may be artists talking to other artists, but our trade is more like artists selling to a mass market. We can't afford to have the majority of our work go over the laypersons head.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
