My name is Ian Schreiber, and I've worked in the game industry as a programmer and game designer since 2000. I've worked on eight shipped titles, including online trading card games, console games, online social games, and even some "serious games" for corporate training. I've consulted on a variety of additional titles, and at any given time I can probably tell you that I'm working with NDA for NDA on NDA.
I've also taught college students how to make games, since 2006. I've worked with two-year and four-year colleges and universities, both in person and online. I've taught classes, created course content, and consulted for curriculum development. I co-authored the books Challenges for Game Designers and Breaking into the Game Industry, and created the content for a free online class in game design and another online class in game balance.
I'm a proud member of the IGDA (since 2003). I co-founded the Global Game Jam, I'm an active member of the Education SIG, and I'm one of the local coordinators of the Columbus Chapter.
Over my lifetime, I've saved 87 princesses, defeated 64 evil wizards, and prevented the destruction of the universe 127 times. You probably owe me your life for this without even realizing it.
